The boat, Eastern Comfort, is moored only 10 metres away from what remains of the Berlin Wall - the former boundary between east and west Berlin during the cold war period. The other boat, Western Comfort, is 120 metres away. You can get to the Mitte district in the heart of Berlin in just 10 minutes by public transport. There is also a direct tram to Prenzlauer Berg, a culturally vibrant part of town,which (just like the Kreuzberg and Friedrichshain districts, between which the boats are moored) is frequented by young people.

Directions to the Hostel: By Bus: From the central bus station (ZOB), take the S-Bahn (city rail) to Warschauerstraße. (See below for directions from Warschauerstraße) By Train: When arriving at Berlin's main railway station (Hauptbahnhof), you need to take the S-Bahn (city rail) to Warschauerstraße station. (See below for directions from Warschauerstraße) From Tegel Airport: Take the TXL bus or X109 bus to Alexanderplatz, from there take the S-Bahn (city rail) as far as Warschauerstraße station. (See below for directions from Warschauerstraße) From Schönefeld Airport: Outside the airport, take the shuttlebus or continue along the roofed walkway to the station. You can take the Regional Express train (RE), which runs every 30 minutes to Ostbahnhof or take the S-Bahn (city rail) to Warschauerstraße station. It takes approximately 30 minutes to get from Schönefeld to Warschauerstraße. (See below for directions from Warschauerstraße) From Schönefeld to Ostbahnhof (a smaller station in the former East) by Expressbus: Exit the station, walk towards the main road (Mühlenstrasse), cross the road, turn left and walk along the Wall until you reach the Eastern Comfort. The walk from Ostbahnhof will take up to 15 minutes. You can walk from here, or take a taxi. Directions from Warschauerstraße: Once you exit the station you will find yourself on a bridge. Turn left and follow the road, which leads downhill towards the River Spree. When you reach the traffic lights, cross the street and then cross again (you are walking towards the Berlin Wall). Walk alongside the wall until you reach the second gate/opening. You will see the sign for the Eastern Comfort clearly. The walk from Warschauerstrasse takes about 10 minutes. By car: all motorways to Berlin lead you onto the Berliner Ring (A10 - ringroad around Berlin). Take any exit leading you to Berlin Zentrum; look out for signs directing you towards Mitte/Alexanderplatz. From here you drive towards Dresden/Köpenick, from Holzmarktstraße you drive further into Mühlenstraße (this is the B96. Please note there are many streets called Mühlenstraße in Berlin, the address for your navigation system is 10243 Berlin). The former Berlin Wall will be on your right when you drive along Mühlenstraße. Just before you reach the end of Mühlenstraße, you will see the Eastern Comfort. Parking is free of charge and usually possible right in front of the gate.
